Polished copper, both inside and out. Two variations: ”Stooge” has a rough-tinned sides and lid, ”Askja” has a smooth lid, with deep black linseed oil and ash sides.

Fully hand-forged with seamless sides. The can takes shape through roughly 50 different stages, using hammers, anvils, pliers, snips, annealing, and tinning. For Askja a bead roller is used for some details.

The process for ”Stooge” begins with cutting three circles:

1. The side of the can is driven out using hammer and heat (annealing done several times).
2. The bottom is folded and joined with the side using small hammers and anvil (annealed as needed, based on feel).
3. The lid is shaped similarly to the sides but tailored to each individual tin.

The bottom folded visibly with hammer strikes — creating both character and a soft, pocket-friendly edge. The rim of the side is folded inward, integrated into the tin, for a smooth top edge with no inner lip.

”Askja” is formed in a similar way, although only two cut circles are used: can and lid, no bottom.

No polishing beyond what comes naturally through use. Does it get a dent? — Beautiful, let’s add another. Shaped to fit a classic Swedish snus can, but meant to hold whatever you like. The lid is designed so you can fidget with it, like a spinner. A bottom fold allows for easier one-handed opening and adds visual depth.

Each piece is stamped with a unique number on the bottom.
